| 正面描述 | The central field features a composite design depicting traditional Maltese children's games, including marbles, spinning tops, kite-making and kite-flying, and a local variant of hopscotch known as 'passju.' Three bees arranged in a circular flight pattern allude to a well-known Maltese children's chant sung during play. The legend 'MALTA' and the year of issue '2020' are inscribed within the inner disc. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European Union flag. |

Malta issued this coin to mark its participation in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games — themselves postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, making the "2020" date on the coin technically a misnomer by the time any athlete competed. The EU's commemorative €2 program requires member states to limit issues to two per year, and Malta has consistently used that allowance to punch above its weight in visibility relative to its population of under 500,000.
