| Obverse description | The central field of the inner disc depicts a detail from Michelangelo's Last Judgment fresco in the Sistine Chapel, rendered in rich relief. Along the left arc of the inner ring, the legend 'CITTÀ DEL VATICANO' is inscribed in semi-circular fashion, while the right arc bears the commemorative inscription 'CAPPELLA SISTINA — FINE DEI RESTAURI' accompanied by the anniversary dates '1994–2019'. The mintmark 'R' for the Rome Mint appears at the right side, and the engraver's signature 'D. LONGO' is placed at the lower right of the inner disc. The outer ring carries the twelve stars of the European Union flag in high relief. |
