| Reverse description | The common reverse of the standard European 2 Euro coin features a geographical map of Europe extending across both the central disc and the outer ring on the right side. The bold numeral '2' is set in high relief in the left portion of the inner disc, occupying the open field representing the eastern Atlantic Ocean, with the inscription 'EURO' to its right overlying the map of Europe. Twelve stars of the European Union are arranged along the right half of the outer ring, divided equally above and below the European landmass, while six vertical relief lines traverse the inner disc, visually linking the upper and lower star groups. The mintmark and the mark of the mint master appear in the field. |
