| 裏面の説明 | The standard European Union reverse design features a geographic map of Western Europe spanning both the inner disc and a portion of the outer ring on the right side of the coin. The bold numeral '2' is positioned in the open field representing the eastern Atlantic Ocean to the left, while the inscription 'EURO' appears superimposed over the map. Six vertical relief lines traverse the inner disc vertically, visually linking the upper and lower segments of the outer ring. Twelve stars of the European Union are arranged along the right portion of the outer ring, six above and six below the map. The mint mark 'LL' appears within the design. |

Latvia's entry in the EU-wide Erasmus commemorative series, issued to mark the programme's 35th anniversary. Since launching in 1987, Erasmus has funded student exchanges across member states — Latvia, having joined the EU only in 2004, participated relatively late but has since sent and received students at rates disproportionate to its population size.
All eurozone members struck their own national version of this design simultaneously in 2022, making it one of the few true pan-European coin issues where every participating mint produced an identical reverse on the same calendar date.
