Beschrijving keerzijde The standard euro area reverse, designed by Luc Luycx, displays the large numeral '2' occupying the left portion of the inner disc, with a stylised map of the European Union rendered in relief to the right. The legend 'EURO' is inscribed across the map. Six stars of the European Union are arranged in a vertical band to the far right of the inner disc, with the engraver's initials 'LL' subtly incorporated into the design. Aanvullende informatie

Issued jointly by France and Germany to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the Élysée Treaty, signed by de Gaulle and Adenauer on 22 January 1963 — a bilateral reconciliation pact that formalized postwar cooperation between two nations that had fought three wars in seventy years. Both countries released commemorative 2 euro coins for the occasion, making this one of the relatively rare instances of a coordinated dual-nation eurozone commemorative issue.
