| Additional information |
Part of a three-coin thematic series issued by Malta between 2015 and 2017, this piece followed the "Family" and preceded the "Old Age" releases — a deliberate social policy statement from a country that had only joined the eurozone in 2008. Malta's commemorative two-euro program has consistently used the format to address domestic welfare themes rather than the historical or dynastic subjects favored by larger eurozone members.
