Aanvullende informatie

Cyprus joined the eurozone on 1 January 2008, having been admitted to the EU in 2004 despite the island's ongoing partition — making it the only EU member state with a significant portion of its territory outside government control. The northern third, occupied by Turkish forces since 1974, remains unrecognized by every UN member except Turkey.

KM#116 is a regular annual issue, not a commemorative.
