Aanvullende informatie

The 7th World Meeting of Families was held in Milan in June 2012, drawing an estimated one million pilgrims for the closing Mass celebrated by Benedict XVI himself — one of the largest public gatherings of his pontificate. Vatican commemorative €2 issues are struck in strictly limited quantities and sold directly through the Vatican's philatelic and numismatic office rather than circulated, meaning virtually every example survives in original condition.

Benedict resigned the following February, making 2012 his final full year as pope and this among the last commemorative issues bearing his portrait.
