Obverse description The nickel-brass centre features conjoined left-facing effigies of Queen Beatrix and Crown Prince Willem-Alexander, with the Queen's portrait in the foreground and the Prince's slightly behind to the left. A circular legend surrounds the portraits, reading 'WILLEM-ALEXANDER PRINS VAN ORANJE' on the left and 'BEATRIX KONINGIN DER NEDERLANDEN' on the right, separated by a small crown device at the top. The date '28 JANUARI 2013' and the Utrecht mint mark appear in the lower portion of the inner disc. The outer copper-nickel ring bears the twelve stars of the European Union.
