Reverse description The standard common reverse design of the 2 Euro denomination, designed by Luc Luycx, features the large numeral '2' in the left portion of the nickel brass centre, with the word 'EURO' inscribed to the right. A stylised map of the European Union occupies the right field, rendered with fine line detail against a smooth background. The designer's initials 'LL' appear below the map. The outer copper-nickel ring bears the twelve stars of the European Union evenly spaced around the circumference.
