| Obverse description | The inner disk features a stylised globe rendered in the form of the euro symbol, surrounded by allegorical motifs representing the currency's societal impact: a family group symbolising ordinary citizens, the Eurotower representing the financial world, a merchant vessel for trade, a factory for industry, and two wind turbines denoting energy and research. The designer's initials 'A.H.' appear discreetly between the ship and the Eurotower in the field.
