| Obverse description | The inner disc presents an allegorical composition depicting the global reach and everyday significance of the euro on its tenth anniversary of circulation. At centre, a stylised euro symbol rendered as a globe dominates the field, flanked by symbolic vignettes: a family group representing ordinary citizens, the Eurotower representing the financial sector, a merchant vessel representing trade, a factory representing industry, and two wind turbines representing energy and research. The designer's initials 'A.H.' appear discreetly between the ship and the Eurotower.
