| Obverse description | Within the bimetallic inner circle, the Norwegian lion rampant is depicted in the lower portion of the field, rendered in a stylised heraldic manner, holding an axe. Rising above the lion is a large spreading tree occupying the upper half of the central field, its branches extending to fill the available space. The date 2004 appears in the lower exergue of the inner circle. The outer nickel silver ring carries a repeated legend reading PRØBE, separated by asterisks, circling the entire periphery. |
