| Obverse description | The inner disk depicts a detailed panoramic view of Mdina, Malta's ancient walled city, rendered in fine relief as seen from the surrounding countryside. The fortified bastions, medieval townscape, and the prominent dome and towers of St. Paul's Cathedral rise dramatically above the rocky escarpment. The legend MDINA appears in the upper field, with the engraver's initials NGB positioned discreetly to the right of the cityscape. The inscriptions MALTA and the date 2025 are incused in the lower field. The outer ring carries the twelve stars of the European Union. |
