| Reverse description | The common reverse of the €2 circulation series, designed by Luc Luycx, features a geographic relief map of the European continent extending across both the inner core and the right portion of the outer ring. The bold numeral '2' is situated in the open field representing the eastern Atlantic Ocean, to the left of the map, with the inscription 'EURO' immediately to its right. Twelve stars of the European Union are arranged along the right arc of the outer ring, divided into two groups of six above and below the map. Six raised vertical lines cross the inner core, linking the upper and lower star groupings and providing a decorative grid motif. The designer's initials 'LL' appear in small relief in the lower right area of the inner core. |
