Issued to mark the 150th anniversary of Marconi's birth, this Vatican commemorative honors the inventor who was a devout Catholic and received a papal audience with Pius XI in 1931 — the same year Marconi personally established and became the first director of Vatican Radio, a station the Holy See still operates today.
