Obverse description	The Kneža kamen (Prince's Stone), the ancient enthronement stone of the Karantanian dukes, occupies the central field. The stone is surrounded by the twelve stars of the European Union, alternating with the individually spaced letters of the country name SLOVENIJA arranged in a ring. The date of issue appears within the legend. The design, executed by M. Licul, evokes Slovenia's early medieval sovereign tradition and its continuity with European identity.
