Additional information

Turkey has never issued euro coinage — it is not a eurozone member and has not adopted the euro. A small number of Turkish euro pattern and specimen sets were produced in 2003 ahead of EU accession negotiations, which formally opened in 2005 but have remained effectively frozen since around 2016. These pieces were struck as proofs of intent rather than circulating currency, and no Turkish euro coins have ever been released for general use.
