| Obverse description | The inner core bears a right-facing portrait of Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, rendered in a classical style. Encircling the upper portion of the inner core and into the outer ring, the legend 'MONACO' arcs in relief at the top. Along the lower portion of the inner core, the commemorative inscription '1524 - TRAITÉ AVEC CHARLES QUINT – 2024' records the 500th anniversary of the Treaty with Charles V. The twelve stars of the European Union are arrayed around the outer ring. |
