| Obverse description | Central field features the crowned Royal Arms of Spain, displaying the quartered escutcheon with castles and lions, with an inescutcheon bearing the fleur-de-lis of the Bourbon dynasty, surmounted by a large royal crown. The shield is flanked by decorative floral or star-shaped ornaments in the field. The peripheral legend reads LUDOVICUS I DEI GRA, separated by floral rosette stops, identifying King Luis I by the Grace of God. The design is executed in the milled style characteristic of early 18th-century Spanish coinage from the Seville mint. |
