Obverse description Draped bust of Charles IV facing right, struck in the name of Ferdinand VII, occupying the central field within a toothed border. The circumferential legend reads FERDIN VII D G HISP ET IND R, with the date 1817 displayed in the exergue below the portrait. The effigy features elaborate period court dress with a lace cravat, rendered in the neoclassical style characteristic of late colonial Spanish-American coinage.
