| Reverse description | Crowned quartered shield of the Spanish Royal Arms, displaying the castles of Castile and the lions of León in alternating quarters, enclosed within an ornate baroque frame. The mint mark LM and assayer initials JM appear flanking the base of the shield. The surrounding legend reads NOMINA MAGNA SEQUOR, a motto associated with the colonial coinage of Peru. The entire design is characteristic of the so-called 'macuquina' transition period milled coinage produced at the Lima Mint. |
