Obverse description Draped bust of King Carlos III facing right, portrayed in a stylized, somewhat archaic manner typical of early Lima Mint coinage. The effigy shows the king with curled wig and regal attire. The surrounding legend reads CAROLUS III D G HISPAN ET IND REX, with the date appearing in the lower portion of the field. The portrait is rendered in moderately high relief against a flat field.

Reverse description Crowned quartered shield of the Spanish Royal Arms, displaying the castles of Castile and the lions of León in alternating quarters, enclosed within an ornate baroque frame. The mint mark LM and assayer initials JM appear flanking the base of the shield. The surrounding legend reads NOMINA MAGNA SEQUOR, a motto associated with the colonial coinage of Peru. The entire design is characteristic of the so-called 'macuquina' transition period milled coinage produced at the Lima Mint.
