Reverse description The reverse presents a full-length standing figure of a Bernese armored soldier (the Bernese banneret) facing forward in the center of the field, holding a pike or halberd in his right hand and resting his left hand on his hip, dressed in period military costume with helmet and armor. The date 1837 appears in the exergue below the figure. The circular legend DOMINUS PROVIDEBIT arcs around the upper portion of the field. A reeded border frames the entire composition.
