| Obverse description | The crowned arms of Lucerne are displayed on an elaborately ornamented shield at the center of the design. The crown at the top is supported on either side by two wildmen (woodwoses), each wearing natural wreaths upon their heads and around their waists; the dexter wildman holds an upright sword while the sinister wildman bears a palm leaf. Both figures stand upon a decorative podest flanked by scrollwork. A shell ornament appears above the shield and a grotesque mascaron below, completing the baroque decorative program. |

| Reverse description | The reverse presents a six-line Latin inscription contained within an ornate baroque cartouche, the frame of which is adorned with two palm branches, two shells, a floral garland, and scrollwork. The engraver's initials I·T· and the date 1741 are incorporated into the legend. The overall composition is characteristic of mid-eighteenth-century Swiss civic coinage, with the decorative surround lending heraldic dignity to the dedicatory text. |
