A continuous circular legend in Latin characters surrounds the inner beaded border, reading GOTT • IST • VNSER • ECKSTEIN ('God is our cornerstone'), separated by decorative stops. No denomination is indicated on the design. The die-work is characteristic of emergency siege coinage, struck on a roughly trimmed square planchet with plain flat fields beyond the design circle. |
