Obverse description Central field occupied by a crowned, mantled oval shield bearing the five-fold arms of the Chapter of Liège, flanked by decorative supporters and surmounted by a princely coronet. The arms display quartered heraldic devices including the eagle of the Empire and the lion of Liège. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery within a beaded border, reading the authority of the Dean and Chapter during the vacancy of the see.
