Obverse description Central quartered coat of arms on an ornately mantled shield, featuring the arms of the Abbey of Kempten with a small central escutcheon, flanked by elaborate foliate and strapwork cartouche. Three ornate crested helmets surmount the shield: the central helmet is topped by a mitre-crowned eagle displayed, the left by a bishop's mitre, and the right by an eagle's head. The circular legend surrounds the entire composition within a milled border.
