| Obverse description | Facing confronted crowned busts of Ferdinand and Isabella, each wearing a crown and draped attire, their effigies depicted in a medieval Flemish hammered style within a beaded inner circle. The busts face one another in profile, Ferdinand to the left and Isabella to the right, both depicted with elaborate collar drapery. The surrounding circular legend in Latin reads the royal titulature of Philip II as King of the Spaniards. A beaded border frames the entire composition. |
