| Obverse description | Central field displays the elaborate quartered coat of arms of the Electorate of Bavaria, incorporating the Bavarian lozengy shield, the imperial eagle, and additional dynastic heraldic elements, all surmounted by an electoral crown. The arms are richly detailed in high relief, rendered in the baroque style typical of late 17th-century German coinage. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the armorial design along the periphery, reading the dedicatory inscription of the Bavarian estates. The date 1697 appears within the legend at the top of the coin. |
