| Reverse description | The reverse bears a bold, multi-line dedicatory inscription in capital letters filling the entire field, reading ZUM / 200 JÆHRIG. / JUBILÆUM / DER / K. LEIBGARDE / DER / HARTSCHIERE / 13 APRIL / 1869, commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Royal Bavarian Hartschiere Bodyguard Corps. The lettering is deeply and crisply struck in a monumental serif typeface. There is no figurative device; the inscription alone occupies the central field in nine horizontal lines. The coin is bordered by a toothed or beaded rim consistent with the obverse. |
