Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Joseph II facing right, rendered in high relief in the neoclassical style. The bust is unarmored, with the drapery knotted at the shoulder. The mint mark 'E' (Karlsburg/Alba Iulia mint) appears below the bust truncation. The encircling Latin legend reads: IOS·II·D·G·ROM·IMP·S·A·GER·HU·BOH·REX, identifying the emperor as Holy Roman Emperor and King of Germany, Hungary, and Bohemia.

Reverse description A crowned double-headed Imperial eagle displayed, with wings spread, bears on its breast a quartered shield of the Habsburg-Lorraine arms. The denomination numeral '2' appears within a small oval cartouche at the base of the eagle. The date appears to the left within the circular legend, which reads: M·D·HETR·1782·ARCH·AUST·D·BURG·CO·TYR, referencing the titles of Grand Duke of Tuscany, Archduke of Austria, Duke of Burgundy, and Count of Tyrol.
