| Beschrijving keerzijde | Elaborately engraved multi-quartered armorial achievement of the Palatinate-Neuburg dynasty, composed of numerous interlocking escutcheons bearing the arms of the various territories held by Johann Wilhelm II, including the lozengy field of Bavaria, the lion of the Palatinate, the checky arms of Berg, and the Imperial orb at center. The entire composition is surmounted by an Electoral bonnet and a large Electoral crown, and encircled by the chain of a knightly order. The circular Latin legend ARMA • PALATINI CONSOLIDANTVR, meaning 'The arms of the Palatine are consolidated,' runs around the periphery, commemorating the unification and consolidation of his territorial claims. The reverse demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship in the intricate rendering of heraldic detail within a compact flan. |
