Reverse description Half-length armoured effigy of Elector John George I facing right, wearing the electoral bonnet and draped in a richly decorated mantle, holding an upright sword over his right shoulder. The name IOANES appears in the field flanking the bust, with the date 1530 divided to either side in the upper portion of the field, referencing the centenary of the Augsburg Confession. Partial coats of arms are visible in the lower field, and a beaded inner border frames the composition, encircled by the Latin peripheral legend commemorating the centennial of the Lutheran Confession.
