Reverse description Quartered heraldic shield of the Paleologo dynasty of Montferrat, displaying the imperial eagle of the Holy Roman Empire in the first quarter alongside the vertical pales of Montferrat and additional dynastic emblems, surmounted by a crowned eagle crest. The shield occupies the central field, flanked by the circular Latin legend reading SACRI RO IMP PRINC VICA PP, proclaiming the marquess's title as Prince and Vicar of the Holy Roman Empire. The legend is enclosed within a beaded border following the irregular hammered flan.
