Obverse description A large quartered heraldic shield dominates the field, displaying the arms of the Archbishopric of Salzburg alongside the personal arms of Archbishop Georg von Kuenburg, with supporters at the sides. Above the shield, the half-length effigy of Saint Rupert in pontifical vestments is depicted facing front, holding a crozier in his left hand and an orb in his right. The date appears at the top of the coin, flanking the saint's figure. The circular legend, separated by pellets, runs along the entire periphery within a beaded border. The mintmark letters S and R appear in the field to either side of the shield.
