| Obverse description | Within the field, the abbatial coat of arms is borne on an oval shield mounted upon an ornate decorative pedestal, with the date 1726 disposed at either side of the base. The shield is enclosed within a cartouche surmounted by a pontifical mitre resting upon a bishop's stole, a crosier rising prominently behind. The encircling Latin legend names the issuer as Franciscus, Abbot of Fischingen, and commemorates his jubilee year. The composition is rendered in the formal Baroque heraldic style characteristic of Swiss ecclesiastical coinage of the period. |
