附加信息

Ferdinand II's Bohemian ducats of this period were struck in the immediate aftermath of the Battle of White Mountain (1620), which effectively ended the Bohemian revolt and returned the kingdom firmly to Habsburg Catholic control. The Prague mint resumed gold coinage under tight imperial supervision as Ferdinand consolidated power — these pieces circulated in a Bohemia that had just watched its Protestant nobility expelled or executed en masse following the 1621 executions on Old Town Square.

The .986 fineness places these among the purest gold issues of the period, consistent with Bohemian mint standards that predated the debasement crises affecting much of Central Europe during the Thirty Years' War.
