正面描述 Right-facing armored bust of Duke Eberhard Louis with flowing curled wig, draped in ornate plate armor with visible gorget and pauldron details, rendered in high relief in the Baroque style. The effigy occupies the central field and extends nearly to the coin's edge, conveying regal authority. The circumferential legend reads EBERH. LUD. D. G. DUX WURTEMB., separated by pellets, in well-struck Roman capitals. A reeded border frames the design. The engraving is attributed to Philipp Heinrich Müller and displays fine artistic craftsmanship typical of late 17th-century German medallic art.

附加信息

Eberhard Louis became Duke of Württemberg in 1693 at age nine, with his father Frederick Charles having died the previous year. The duchy was governed by a regency council through the early years of this issue's production, meaning these coins were struck under administrative authority rather than direct ducal command — a distinction that mattered enormously in the petty-state politics of the Holy Roman Empire.

By 1700, Württemberg was being pulled into the War of the Spanish Succession, and the financial pressures on the ducal treasury were acute. Gold issues of this period served diplomatic and contractual functions as much as monetary ones.
