The curved Latin legend VNIONE ET OBSERVANTIA LEGUM (By union and observance of the laws) encircles the upper portion of the design. The composition is executed in fine medallic style, combining allegorical and emblematic elements characteristic of eighteenth-century Frankfurt coronation coinage. |
