Obverse description Draped bust of King Christian V facing right, his hair styled in long flowing curls in the fashion of the period. The king is depicted bareheaded without a crown or laurel wreath. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading D•G•REX•DAN•NOR•VAN•GOT•, with the date 1673 appearing in the lower exergual area between two dots. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine baroque detail, the work of engraver Jean Henri de Moor. A beaded border encircles the entire obverse field.
