Reverse description A crowned, ornately shaped oval shield bearing the three-part royal arms of Denmark, featuring the quartered coats of the Danish realms. The arms are encircled by the badge and collar of the Order of the Elephant, Denmark's highest chivalric order, with the pendant elephant clearly depicted below the shield. The crowned achievement is rendered in the elaborate baroque heraldic style typical of the late 17th century, with fine engraving of mantling details, and the composition is enclosed within the same rope or gadrooned border as the obverse.
