Obverse description Central field dominated by the interlaced royal cypher of Christian V — a large ornate 'C5' monogram in high relief — surmounted by an elaborate royal crown with fleurs-de-lis and arched bands. The monogram is rendered in a refined Baroque calligraphic style, filling the majority of the flan. A circular Latin legend runs around the periphery, separated from the inner device by a plain inner border, with the reeded edge visible at the rim.
