| Obverse description | Central field displays a complex heraldic composition featuring two ornate shields arranged side by side, the dexter bearing the Bishopric of Breslau arms with a rampant lion, the sinister displaying a quartered shield with the arms of Austria and Burgundy, surmounted by a crowned eagle displayed above. The whole is encircled by a rope-bordered ring, with additional heraldic supporters and ornamental devices in the upper field. The circumferential legend in bold Gothic-influenced capitals reads CAROL ERTZHERZOG ZUE OSTERREICH, identifying the issuing authority as Archduke Charles of Austria, Bishop of Breslau. |
