正面描述 Draped bust of Bishop Charles II of Liechtenstein-Kastelkorn facing right, depicted with long flowing curled hair, set within a beaded inner circle. The bishop wears ecclesiastical robes with visible armour detailing at the shoulder. The encircling Latin legend reads CAROL D : G · EPVS · OLOMVCENSIS · DVX · S · R · I · PCEPS, identifying him as Bishop of Olomouc and Prince of the Holy Roman Empire. The portrait is rendered in a high-relief Baroque style typical of mid-to-late seventeenth-century Central European coinage.

附加信息

Charles II of Liechtenstein-Kastelkorn ruled the Bishopric of Olomouc for over two decades during the most intensive phase of re-Catholicization in Moravia, wielding both ecclesiastical and considerable secular authority in a region still recovering from the devastation of the Thirty Years' War. Gold ducats from episcopal mints of this period were instruments of prestige as much as exchange — issued in limited quantities to mark the bishop's sovereign minting rights and circulated primarily among the nobility and merchant elite rather than in everyday commerce.

The 21-year span of this type makes attribution to specific years difficult without die study; most examples lack a full legible date.
