| 正面描述 | Left-facing effigy of Pope Paul VI wearing a zucchetto and papal vestments, with the papal coat of arms — featuring the tiara and crossed keys — depicted at the base of the portrait. Aureus Magnus was a private Swiss minting house that produced gold coin-medals for the Vatican souvenir and collector trade during the 1960s, operating outside official Vatican mint authority. These pieces were never legal tender and carry no pontifical imprimatur beyond the use of the Pope's likeness, which itself occupied a legal grey area at the time.
Paul VI was elected in June 1963, making this a first-year issue struck within months of his coronation.
