| Obverse description | Central device depicts the Frankfurt imperial eagle displayed, with wings spread and head turned to the right, set within a beaded inner circle. The date 1710 is divided by the eagle's talons, with the mintmaster's initials I·E positioned in the lower exergue. The surrounding legend reads FRANCOFVRT · REIPVBL · DVCATVS · NOVVS · in Latin, running clockwise along the outer border. The coin exhibits finely executed milled relief characteristic of early eighteenth-century German municipal coinage. |
