The pattern coinage of this period reflects the government's attempts to rebuild a credible currency system, often in collaboration with foreign mints exploring various alloy compositions before committing to production. KM#Pn54 represents one of several rejected trial strikes from this stabilization effort.
The copper-nickel formula here was ultimately not adopted for the circulating 2 Drachmai series.
