| Obverse description | At left, an oval vignette contains a portrait of Alexander the Great in three-quarter right profile; a corresponding oval vignette at right bears a helmeted bust of Athena facing left. The central field carries the denomination ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ ΔΥΟ in bold letters beneath the bank title ΙΟΝΙΚΗ ΤΡΑΠΕΖΑ LIMITED across the top, with a handwritten date and a serial number above the central guilloche ornament. Manuscript signatures of the Secretary of the Board and the Bank Cashier appear below the central device, with the Bradbury Wilkinson & Co. imprint along the lower border. |
