| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of King George I in mature portrait, facing left, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and facial features. The circular legend in Greek reads ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ Α! ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ (George I, King of the Greeks), running along the upper periphery within a beaded border. The engraver's signature Γ. ΙΑΚΩΒΙΔΗΣ (G. Jakobides) appears in small letters below the truncation, with the date 1911 in the lower exergual area. The portrait displays a naturalistic, academic style consistent with late 19th- to early 20th-century European coin portraiture. |
